Yes it's finally happened. After months of looking and studying up on what to be prepared for Mike and I "did it"...no not that, get your mind out of the gutter! We adopted a puppy!
This actually happened 2 months ago for Easter. Mike had heard about this puppy who was rescued by a Purdue Nursing student. She and her friends went to New Orleans for their spring break to help build some homes for Habitat for Humanity. While they were there they rescued a litter of puppies from being drowned in a river. The family who had the litter of puppies said whatever they couldn't find homes for, they would drowned to avoid overpopulation. So SAD! Well luckily this kind hearted student decided she and her friends would bring the puppies home and find them good families. We instantly fell in love with this tiny affectionate little pup!
Her name is Nola, for New Orleans LouisiAnna...her home town. She is the love of our lives! I can't believe how quickly we got attached. Every morning she greets us with lots of excitement. She wags her tail so hard that her whole bum wiggles, we call it the "Waggle". She is just the smartest dog. We have been taking the puppy training classes at Petsmart since we brought her home. Our trainer Amy is always amazed at how fast she picks things up.
Graduation was this week, and hallelujah she passed! We had to sit and stay for 20 sec, walk without pulling on the leash, pass up a treat when told to "leave it", come when called, and do a trick. We practiced extra hard this week. So meet our newest addition Nola Spencer. And check out her new tricks. Roll over, and scratch Dad's back (Mike's real proud of this one)

Oh my gosh Jess that cap and gown is seriously the cutest thing ever. I'm a sucker for pets in clothes/costumes. I was the kid who always hung up crazy cat posters or whatever.
Hey, Christopher can do some of the same tricks! :)
Oh my, I love Nola's name! That is so creative. I am so glad you got a blog! Now, even though we are 2000 miles apart we can still see what is going on in each others lives! Your new house looks super cute from what I can tell!
