May...Already!

I can't believe it is May already, this means that I am just two short months from residency graduation. I can't believe how the time has flown by. I have learned so much and actually feel like a doctor and not a student any more. I will really miss the people at the VA, we have so much fun together.

Check Spelling
This is my Program director, he is quite the character.

We were getting ready to go out to a nice meal as a group and he comes out of the locker room wearing this get-up "I'm ready lets go eat"...What I thought we were going to a nice meal? He is such a joker, a total goof ball and fits the title of a dentist perfectly in my eyes always saying silly things to our patients. He is a "Macgyver" of dentistry always teaching us to come up with different ways to solve a situation that seems impossible.

We have 4 residents this year. We laugh a lot together about our interesting VA patients, we treat a lot of characters at the VA. One of my patients just last week showed up for his appointment in a red knee-length 3 piece suit, with matching red hat and white and red wingtip leather shoes, dresses to impress.

One of my favorite parts of the residency when we started was working with the Oral Maxillofacial Surgeons, their knowledge is so vast. I have loved the surgical aspect of dentistry and have learned so much from them.

After the residency I will be working for a practice here in Milwaukee. I'm very excited about this office and can't wait to work just 4 days a week!!! A couple weekends ago I was able to attend a dental education course in Chicago with the new office I'll be working for. We of course had to make a trip to Nordstroms. While we were there all the girls got a mini makeover. It was a blast, makeup is one of my BIGGEST WEAKNESSES, I spent way to much money on some new foundation, but it feels of so fabulous on my skin. Here we are after our makeover. And I had to get a picture of Dr. L and his outrageous pants, they have mini horses and saddle's embroidered all over them.

Two months of hard work left, and then I'll be looking forward to some fun in the sun! I can't wait for Summer.

Congratulations Jess!! I hadn't heard that you had accepted a Job at a practice. It's going to be a hell of a commute every 6 months but I'll go ahead and have my dental records faxed over. What appointment slots do you have open in August ;o)....I'm so excited for you...does Mike get the First appointment at the new practice with Dr. Spencer? You and Mike give eachother a hug from Jess and I.
