The night before Marquette commencement, the Dental school has it's own graduation ceremony. It is always at the amazingly beautiful Gesu Church in downtown Milwaukee. One of my favorite bldgs on campus. The Gesu church is a Jesuit parish of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese and considered by some as the spiritual center set among an urban campus. It's absolutely worth checking out if you are in the area, it was made a part of the National Register of Historic Places. It made for a special occasion of honoring the grads and their families.

After the ceremony the we headed to the dental school for a reception and to give our families a tour of the dental school. It was really fun to show them around the Sim Lab where we first learn to use a handpiece(drill).

Hooding Ceremony is a special recognition ceremony for doctoral degree candidates where a mentor or family member with the same degree can place the doctoral hood over the head of the graduate, signifying his or her success in completing the graduate program. My Hooders were my Group Leader(advisor) Dr. Smithy and my mentor Dr. Stifter. You can faintly see them in the dark picture. It was a fun night.
Mike caught the excitement as I came to greet them after the ceremony, look at my sweet purple hood! Purple is the dentistry color.

Aw, Linda! Haven't seen her in a while! THe hooding ceremony was definitely my favorite part of the whole thing. The church is awesome, and it just seemed right to have such an awesome experience there.
Congrats! Such a great accomplishment. And I must say, LOVE your stress, you look stunning and love your hair :)

That is sooooo neat! I am so happy for you. Congratualtions, you have earned it! And you should think about moving to Bakersfield, we are having trouble finding a good dentist and I would LOVE to go to you!
