The emerald city, day 1

What a wonderful excuse to take a much needed vacation. This past weekend one of my very best friends, David Wilson, married the love of his life Jessie Rykels! Dave and Jess met in college at Purdue and now both have their careers in the beautiful state of Washington.
I've know David since the tail end of our freshman year of high school. He was my favorite dance partner at all the high school stomps and dances, (this white boy really could dance). One of my favorite memories of us was at Prom our Senior year, we almost got kicked out of the dance for our mad dancing skills, they were to hot for our assistant principle( David's neighbor at the time) to handle. She politely broke us up and asked us to behave or she'd call our parents. He has always been one to calm my emotional heart down, especially after I'd gotten all worked up about any high school drama (and there was a lot of it) and he has been an amazing friend to me ever since. He's always there to call and catch up on how I'm doing, and it's like we've never been apart the way he makes me feel when we catch up. He is the truest when it comes to friends. He's the tall blond in the yellow shirt.
Our senior trip to Florida

I should have been a hairdresser, look at my spiking skills, some after school boardom lead me to convince the boys to let me style their hair!

Mike and I were able to travel to the beautiful state of Washington and celebrate with the two love birds. I've always dreamed of traveling to Seattle and checking out Pike's place market. We decided to make a small vacation out of it and see the city while we were there.

The first day of sight seeing we headed straight for the Boeing Museum of Flight. David's dad was in the Airforce, and David is an engineer for Boeing in Seattle. The museum was very cool. Mike's favorite part was the WWI and WWII exhibits. They had old fighter planes and stories being told about some of the pilots who flew them. Here he is with one of his favorites.

The large viewing area had planes hung over head and also below, it was an amazing site. We even got to climb into the cock pit of two different planes. Mike was all smiles about it.

My favorite plane by far was this little number. After WWII many people envisioned that planes would be like cars, that everyone would have one in their garage. So a man developed this "road-able" airplane. You could attach the wings, or simply leave them at the runway and convert as you were off. Pretty awesome don't you think! This plane was even certified by the Civil Aeronautics Administration in 1956. It was all set to mass produce through Ford, when the deal fell through...too bad.

I even thought I could switch careers to wear this darling outfit. Who would have thought the first air mail uniforms would be so chic!
